Bank Financial is now in Flossmoor at 2743 Flossmoor Road serving Homewood and Flossmoor residents who previously had to travel to Olympia Fields, Hazel Crest or other south suburban or Chicago branch locations.
“There are a lot of customers that live in Homewood and Flossmoor,” said Quina Jackson Curtis, the branch manager for Bank Financial’s Flossmoor and Hazel Crest sites. “We were finding that we had a branch in Hazel Crest and a branch in Olympia Fields. And we were missing in the middle of those two.”
Bank Financial has dozens of locations in Chicago and its suburbs but no branches outside of Illinois. The Flossmoor location opened in July.
The new branch is in downtown Flossmoor located next to the Flossmoor Quick Mart and is a short walk from the Flossmoor Metra station. This is the first south suburban location that’s near a Metra Electric station. The building was previously home to US Bank.
While the bank location is under construction, there are no inside teller counters, but Bank Financial is fully operational, Curtis said. A customer can be assisted by a teller by using the drive thru or seeing a banker in the lobby.
Bank Financial of Flossmoor is hiring tellers.
Curtis said Bank Financial of Flossmoor is in its “soft opening” phase and the grand opening ceremony is set to happen with special festivities sometime in October.
“We’re still in the process of working it out but we definitely want to have activities scheduled to kick off the big, grand opening,” Curtis said. “We’ll probably do a big open house. We’ll have a tent [and] balloons. We’ll probably have some giveaways. We may try and have hors d’oeuvres.”
Curtis said the CEO of Bank Financial, F. Morgan Gasior, was raised in Flossmoor so opening a Flossmoor branch is “coming full circle.”
The lobby hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sat. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The drive through hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
