Musical ‘WISH’ takes the stage Sept. 9, 10

Can wishes really come true?

When the 23 Miles South Theatre presents the musical “WISH,” guests will be pleasantly surprised to discover a young girl’s wish for a loving family just may come true.

The production will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9 and 10 at St. Paul Community Church, 18200 Dixie Highway in Homewood.

The musical is an adaptation from an award-winning book by Barbara O’Conner. It focuses on Charlie Reese, an 11-year-old who wishes every day for a family in which they all care for one another.

She is sent from her dysfunctional family to live with relatives in a small Appalachian town, but her situation doesn’t improve until a big-hearted aunt and uncle arrive. Together with a loyal neighbor, a boy and a stray dog, Charlie is about to discover her wish can come true.

Cast members are Bob Colton, Angela Denk, Kalyee Grange, Tavis Marsallis, Anaya Miller, Georgia Stickney and Mark Stone.  Musical director is Bob Colton and the production is directed by Dawn Leader-Peloso.
