Food drive set for Sept. 10 in Homewood

The parish of St. Joseph, St. Anne and St. Emeric is hosting a food donation drive on Saturday, Sept. 10, for the “Neighbors in Need” program sponsored by Catholic Charities.

Donations of food will be accepted from 9 to 11 a.m. in the church’s north parking lot at 17951 Dixie Highway in Homewood. This will be a “pop-the-trunk” drive that will not require any direct contact between volunteers and donors.

Fall events

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
