Homewood and Flossmoor police officers were up early on Friday, Aug. 19, and they were up high, too, for the annual Cop on a Roof fundraiser for Special Olympics.
Police partner each year with Dunkin’ to raise money for Special Olympics, which creates opportunities for athletes with disabilities to compete.
Flossmoor officers perched on the shop at 3608 Vollmer Road most of the morning, starting at 5 a.m. Homewood officers were posted on the roof of the shop at 17579 Halsted St.
Flossmoor officers collected close to $1,700. Homewood tallied $1,119.
