Linda Hansen selected to new Marian Catholic High VP position

Marian Catholic High School has selected Linda Hansen as vice president of Ministry and Mission. She is the first person to hold the position and was selected from a national search.

The school, a Catholic institution led by the Dominican Sisters order, places special emphasis on the education of the whole person, said Marian Catholic President Vince Krydynski. Hansen, through the newly created leadership position, will be instrumental in ensuring that the Marian Catholic community maintains its spiritual focus and direction, guided by the four Dominican pillars of prayer, study, community and preaching, he said.

Hansen has served Marian Catholic for over 30 years in the English and Theology departments, as an administrator for the Bracha Center, the school’s in-house tutoring and academic center, and an Understanding by Design lead teacher.

Throughout her career, Linda has been influential in creating and initiating new programs, including a summer study skills program, Marian Catholic’s AP Seminar curriculum, and Think Tank, the precursor to the Bracha Center.

“We have the potential to more fully live out our mission at Marian Catholic,” Hansen said. “This includes further integration of service, opportunities to get our students actively involved in faith life and building community both within and outside our walls. I am excited to bring us back to our roots while also living out our mission in the modern day.”

“Linda is a strong woman who puts her faith into action. She possesses the energy, passion, skills, and experiences to develop and initiate the programs necessary to meet the demands of the position,” Krydynski said. “She will be a tremendous addition to the school leadership team and will provide the necessary focus on our ministry and mission. I appreciate her willingness to step up and take an active role in supporting the direction of our school.”

Hansen has a bachelor’s degree in English from Loyola University, a master’s degree in pastoral studies from the Catholic Theological Union, and a catechist certification from the Archdiocese of Chicago. In addition, she has a certificate in lay ecclesial ministry from the Diocese of Gary. She is active in her parish, St. Michael the Archangel in Schererville, Indiana.
