Assailant flees after stabbing restaurant employee

Homewood Police are investigating the stabbing of a restaurant employee Friday morning, and searching for the alleged assailant.

Police said they arrived at Mod Pizza, 17631 S. Halsted St., about 10:35 a.m. to find a store employee had been stabbed. Her wounds were not life-threatening, and she was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect was described by police as a Black man in his 20s wearing denim pants with holes, a white belt, black T-shirt and a black hat with white lettering spelling “Security.” The suspect fled on foot . . .
