(HIGHER) heat warning

The forecast is getting a bit worse, we’re sorry to report. The high temperature today is expected to be 97. Same for Wednesday. On Thursday it will only be 91. Only.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for today and tomorrow. Heat indexes could reach heat index from 105 to 109 degrees.

Be careful. Stay safe!

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
