HOMEWOOD VILLAGE BOARD - Homewood Village Board Meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday at village hall. The agenda includes an introduction of the new farmers market manager, a liquor license increase, and other items of business. 

KIDS IN THE KITCHEN - Help children ages 8 to 12 get acquainted with cooking with a class from H-F Park District. Kids in the Kitchen teaches cooking safety and the basics of preparing healthy meals. 1 to 2 p.m. Thursdays, June 9 to 30.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
