The clouds hung low but they didn’t hamper the Flossmoor Police Department’s Coffee with a Cop event from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 20.
Standing outside Dunning’s Market on Sterling Avenue in downtown Flossmoor, a small crowd of police officers and residents gathered at the meet-up.
Police Chief Tod Kamleiter said the event was “an opportunity to see people face-to-face. It’s a great opportunity to connect.”
Deputy Chief Clint Wagner said those who stopped by came more to talk than to raise any serious concerns.
Leonard Harris of the Flossmoor Hills Civic Association agreed.
“We have a great police department in Flossmoor,” Harris said. Adding he appreciated living “in a safe community.”
