Registration open for Anew’s dance fundraiser

Registration is open for the “Dancing Away Domestic Violence” event on June 11 hosted by the nonprofit Anew: Building Beyond Violence and Abuse

This fundraiser, from 3 to 6 p.m. on Martin Square, 18020 Martin Ave. in Homewood, will have people getting up on their feet to enjoy line dancing, Zumba and cardio drumming.

The program has something for all ages. This year, participants who register by May 20 will receive a T-shirt designed by a student at Bloom Township High School.

The registration fee is $25 for adults, $15 for children under 12. If you prefer not to receive a T-shirt, the registration fee is $20 for adults and $10 for children.

If you’re not a participant, but would like to help Anew, T-shirts can be purchased for $15. “Dance Away Domestic Violence” participants also will receive exclusive deals and discounts to various Homewood businesses and restaurants.

This event is sponsored by Serendipity Yoga and Wellness, The Saucy Crab Restaurant, Asian Harbor Restaurant, Thomas Photographic and First Savings Bank of Hegewisch.
