Monday’s blue skies, a light breeze and a temperature in the 80s made it a perfect day for an ice cream social with Dairy Queen treats!

Irwin Park in Homewood was jammed with District 153 kids and parents who came out to celebrate spring. Treats were provided by the Parent-Teacher Association, the Parents’ Music Association and Foundation 153. The volunteers were joined by Destiny Watson of You Matter 2.

The original date for the event was Friday, May 6, but rain and cold temperatures forced a postponement. Monday was an ideal make-up day.
