ADULT TECH TUTORING - On Thursdays in April, May and June, adults can get help at free Tech Tutoring sessions. Learn how to send an email, shop online, create a Facebook account, and how to use Zoom and Google Meet. A volunteer tutor from Prairie State College facilitates the sessions, which are at 1:30 p.m. at Homewood Library. Register on Facebook, email [email protected], or call (708) 798-0121.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
