The Village of Flossmoor is hosting a special event from 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9, to welcome its newest residents to the community.
The New Resident Day event at the Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will be a special get-together for the 200 residents who moved into the village in the past year.
Flossmoor Station Restaurant and Brewery will be serving samples of their famous Brewery Beers and William Hightower of Cuvée Wine Concierge will be serving samples of wines from his collection. The Bistro, Dunnings Gourmet Market and Flossmoor Station will also be serving samples of from their menus. Flossmoor businesses have donated gifts for a raffle, and a Homewood-Flossmoor High School Jazz Band combo will entertain.
At 5 p.m. Mayor Michelle Nelson will welcome guests, followed by representatives from Flossmoor School District 161 and Homewood-Flossmoor High School and the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District who will share information.
In addition to the event, new residents will see a special greeting on the library lawn Friday through Sunday courtesy of Lawnpalooza.
