Flossmoor event Saturday welcomes new residents

The Village of Flossmoor is hosting a special event from 4 until 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9, to welcome its newest residents to the community.

The New Resident Day event at the Flossmoor Public Library, 1000 Sterling Ave., will be a special get-together for the 200 residents who moved into the village in the past year.

Flossmoor Station Restaurant and Brewery will be serving samples of their famous Brewery Beers and William Hightower of Cuvée Wine Concierge will be serving samples of wines from his collection. The Bistro, Dunnings Gourmet Market and Flossmoor Station will also be . . .

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
