DONATE TO UKRAINE - Shir Tikva synagogue and Gypsy Fix store are collaborating on a humanitarian drive in support of the people of Ukraine. First aid kits, Tylenol, ibuprofen and new fleece blankets can be dropped at either location. Donors can also shop an Amazon wishlist. Find information on Facebook with Gypsy Fix.

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
