ADOLESCENT ACTIVISITS - Do you know a teen with big opinions about the world? Suggest they check in with the Adolescent Activists club, a platform for teens to share their views on real world issues.

For each meeting, members research a topic and then discuss their responses and understanding. Afterward, a summary of the conversation is posted on Instagram to open the conversation to others.

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
