Homewood, Flossmoor village offices to remain closed through Jan. 18 in response to COVID-19 surge

Flossmoor officials announced on Jan. 2 that village hall at 2800 Flossmoor Road and the Public Works office at 1700 Central Park Ave. would remain closed until Jan. 18 "in an attempt to continue mitigation efforts against the current COVID-19 surge, and to protect members of the public and village staff." On Dec. 30, Homewood announced its village hall at 2020 Chestnut Road and Public works office at 17755 Ashland Ave. would be closed for the same period.

Flossmoor residents can continue to conduct business with the village remotely via mail, drop box, email or phone.

Fall events

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
