TO FEED AND CLOTHE - St. Joseph Church in Homewood hosts two events on Saturday that are open to the community. First, the church will collect canned and nonperishable foods for South Suburban Food Pantry from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the north parking lot at 17951 Dixie Highway.

At 7 p.m. Saturday night, St. Joe's Athletic Association hosts an Adults Only Ugly Sweater Party. Tickets are $10 and come with a "Welcome Treat." The evening, which is a fundraiser for holiday outreach programs, features games, prizes, appetizers and a BYOB option. Bring a $10 gift card . . .

Fall events

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
