A man facing charges for his role in a 2019 Homewood traffic crash at 183rd and Center that caused a fatality is no longer under electronic monitoring.

The Cook County Circuit Court’s office confirmed that Lindsey Anderson, of the 18600 block of May Street in Homewood, was removed from electronic monitoring as he awaits trial.

A Cook County grand jury indicted Anderson on eight charges, including one charge of reckless homicide with a motor vehicle; two charges of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol (for cannabis consumption); and one charge for possession of 283 grams of cannabis in candy and plant form.

According to the indictment, Anderson is also charged with three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. At the time of the crash, Anderson had within his reach a loaded, uncased handgun that was later found to have been stolen from Indianapolis in 2019. Anderson doesn’t have a firearms license or concealed carry license.

The eighth charge Anderson faces is for armed violence, according to court documents. This is a charge imposed when a person is accused of committing a felony act while in possession of a “dangerous weapon.” Anderson’s charge of armed violence relates to his simultaneous possession of a handgun and cannabis with alleged intent to deliver.

Anderson’s next court date is Dec. 19 at the Cook County Circuit Court in Markham.
