H-F High students performing Disney’s ‘The Lion King Jr.’ Nov. 17, 18, 19

Students at Homewood-Flossmoor High School will perform Disney’s “The Lion King Jr.” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 17, 18 and 19, in the Mall Auditorium.

The musical tells the story of young Simba and his pal Rafiki as they journey through the African savannah from their home at Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in this coming-of-age tale.

Jadon Smith will portray Simba and Gabriel McKinney will be Young Simba.

The cast also features Jazmin Rhodes, Stella Hoyt, Charisma Boler, Ronald Gerring, Emma Leak, Harmoni McKinney, Tessa O’Keefe, Cayden Speerbrecker, Madison Vitolka, Sullivan Matthys, Bryce Stewart, Amy Ward and Elle Jenkins.

Ensemble performers are Araceli Adames, Ashira Blakey, Langston Fantroy, Sean Haggerty, Tanya Harvey, Savannah Howard, Faith Kenshol, Flannery Marak, Rylee Miller, Benjamin Peden, Jordyn Richardson, Casey Siengo, Blessing Simon Ohia, Karani Tabor, Kayla Young and Khyla Young.

Student production assistants are Christopher Albert and Paris Bayless.

The production is directed by J.R. Willard-Rose, H-F fine arts teacher, with technical direction by Tim Tholl, H-F’s auditorium manager.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets are sold online at https://hfhs.ticketleap.com/lionking/. All theater guests are required to wear masks.
