Homewood board to consider new trustee, review 183rd Street traffic study

Homewood trustees are expected to approve the nomination of Chenise "Cece" Belue to fill the seat vacated when Barbara Dawkins resigned recently.

Dawkins accepted an appointment as a judge with the Cook County Circuit Court. Belue is a former member of the Homewood Public Library Board of Directors.

The trustees also will receive a presentation on the 183rd Street traffic study that was commissioned in February. Residents had generated a petition seeking action on chronic speeding and other dangerous driving behavior following . . .

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.
