DOUGLAS AVE. CLOSED AGAIN - Douglas Avenue in Flossmoor will be closed again today from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. between the alley north of Flossmoor Road and School Street during construction for storm sewer drainage improvements along Evans Road and Douglas Avenue.

HIGH SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE - Marian Catholic hosts an open house from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with personal tours that provide an overview of the school's academic programs, and opportunities for involvement, leadership and service . . .

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.
