WRITING CLUB - Create a new story at Writing Club for Kids from Homewood Library. Kids in third through sixth grades will get a fun writing prompt in this low stress club that focuses on creativity. Each participant gets a notebook to keep. Register online for the program at 6 p.m. Thursday

SCHOOL RUN - There's still time to register for a run to raise money for local schools with the Homewood Schools Fund Run 2021. You've got two options: Run with others on Sept. 26., or run the course virtually. $25 per person . . .

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
