After doing some preliminary work on Tuesday, the Cook County Sheriff’s Department RENEW program crew brought in an excavator on Wednesday to start bringing down the building at 18225 Dixie Highway in Homewood. The former Bogart’s Charhouse has been vacant for a number of years, and the village hopes razing the building will make the site more attractive to a developer. (Eric Crump/H-F Chronicle)
