SHIELD TEST UPDATE - According to Chronicle reporting from Tuesday night's meeting of the Homewood SD153 school board, a lack of SHIELD computer equipment at James Hart School meant not all students who opted into SHIELD testing for COVID were tested on Tuesday. The district plans to test the remainder of Hart students next Tuesday. Testing today is for students at Churchill School, and students at Willow School on Thursday.

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
