Motorists will have to go around a section of Ridge Road from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, while a film crew works in the area.
Village officials said Ridge will be closed to all traffic from Dixie Highway to Ashland Avenue. Dixie Highway also will close intermittently in the downtown area during the day.
The U.S. Post Office at 1921 Ridge Road will remain open and will be accessible from the south via Gottschalk Avenue. The village noted that alternative post office locations are also available, including 1020 Park Road in Flossmoor, 19 West Main St. in Glenwood, 17541 Kedzie Ave. in Hazel Crest and 103 E. Illinois St. in Thornton.
“We encourage you to find an alternate route and apologize for the inconvenience,” village officials said in their notification.
Local businesses were advised by the production company that the filming is for “Paper Girls,” an Amazon-affiliated show based on a comic series. This will be the show’s third visit to Homewood. Filming last occurred Aug. 2 in the downtown area.
