New teachers excited for their roles in District 161

Members of the District 153 school board took time to recognize outstanding volunteers at Willow and Churchill Schools.

At the April 11 board meeting, students representing the Young Athletes Program at Willow, members of the Churchill Student Council and the James Hart School eighth grade volleyball team were honored for their achievements.

Selected Willow School second graders are working with special needs students on athletic activities that can help prepare them for future competitions with Special Olympics, the world’s largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.
