BEER DOWN TO A SCIENCE – Celebrate Homewood Science Center’s five-year anniversary with the Science of Brewing from 7 to 10 p.m. July 29. The event at Rabid Brewing includes a sample beer tasting, two drink tickets, yard games and munchies. Not Your Dad’s Band plays summer hits, and you have a change to bid on auction prizes.

COMPOST EVENT – University of Illinois Extension, Village of Homewood, and Homewood Science Center host a collection to keep compostables out of the landfill. Drop off yard/garden/kitchen waste to be composted and pick up a bucket of finished compost.
