COOLER WEATHER - Temperatures cool down today into the 70s and rain moves back into the area late this week, making for a possibly wet weekend.

SOUL UNDER THE STARS - Enjoy live music in the Starry Nights concert series beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Irwin Park Band Shell. The free concert features Soul 2 The Bone, a band covering a mixture of Motown, R&B, jazz, disco, pop and blues music.

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
