Gray skies and rain weren't enough to keep pancake lovers and nature enthusiasts away from Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center on Saturday, March 19.
Attendees carried umbrellas and donned galoshes as they made their way up the trail for this year's Pancake Picnic featuring real maple syrup ― no imitation "maple flavored" stuff in the offering.
Along the way, laminated signs educated visitors on the steps to making maple syrup, from extracting the sap to the boiling process that concentrates it into the sweet, amber syrup.
