Franciscan Health earns heart attack treatment award

If things go as planned, the Southland Saints will bring semi-pro basketball to the South Suburbs when they begin playing in the American Basketball Association later this year.

Flossmoor residents Les and Monique Rodgers will own the team, which hasn’t yet nailed down a home venue. Les Rodgers said they’re looking at three possible locations in the area and would like to stay as close as possible to Flossmoor.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
