Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation receives visitors bureau grant

The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau (CSCVB) awarded a $3,960 grant to the Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation to market and promote their Earth Day event, Reimagining Electric Vehicle (EV) Industry.

The networking event will be held April 22 at Governors State University.

Coming on the heels of Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s signing the Reimagining Electric Vehicles in Illinois Act into law in November 2021, the event will include roundtable discussions with EV manufacturers, presentations from EV suppliers and demonstrations of EV products.

The CSCVB’s Local Tourism Grant Program is designed for not-for-profit organizations and/or municipalities for promotion of their meetings, sports events, festivals and attractions targeted to visitors outside the Chicago Southland region. The bureau can award up to $51,000 in six grant cycles annually. This program has been in existence since 1991 and has awarded over $1 million in grants.
