Amid triennial wellness assessment, some ask if D161 committee can be more effective

Two people were transported to the hospital after suffering gunshot wounds Wednesday, March 16, in the 1200 block of Jill Terrace in Homewood.

Homewood officers responded to the home shortly after 10 p.m., according to a police statement.

They discovered two victims, a 22-year-old male and a 42-year-old female. Homewood Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene to treat and transport the victims.

A 47-year-old male suspect who was known by the victims was taken into custody, police said.

The investigation continues, but police said there is no continuing threat to the community . . .
