Six vehicles — three of them in a parking lot — were involved in a crash at the intersection of 175th Street and Dixie Highway on June 11, sending one person to the hospital.
According to Homewood police, around 6:30 p.m. a vehicle traveling westbound on 175th Street proceeded to turn left onto southbound Dixie Highway when it crashed into a vehicle headed eastbound on 175th Street.
That vehicle was pushed, causing collisions among four other vehicles.
First, it hit one vehicle that was stopped at the traffic signal northbound on Dixie Highway at 175th Street.
Then, it hit a vehicle parked in the lot at Balagio Ristorante, 17501 Dixie Highway. That collision caused a chain reaction, in which the first parked car pushed into a second, and the second pushed into a third.
One person was transported to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
The driver of the vehicle turning left onto southbound Dixie Highway received a citation for failure to yield, according to police.
