COVID-19 numbers: May 17

"Cabaret," "Dreamgirls," "Chicago," "Sweeney Todd" and "Cats" are just a few of the Broadway musicals that the GSU Dance Company will be paying tribute to on Governors State University’s Center for Performing Arts stage on Feb. 11 and 12.

Shows will be at 7:30 p.m. each night at GSU, 1 University Parkway, University Park. Tickets are $15 and $10 for students with valid ID. Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
