STEAM CLUB APPLICATION DEADLINE - Today is the deadline to submit your application for the Girls STEAM Success Club at Homewood Science Center. This free five-month club is for middle school students who identify as girls, with priority given to eighth-graders and those from households receiving government assistance.

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
