CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Watch out for lane closures on Dixie Highway from Chicago Road to 183rd Street in Homewood, as IDOT works on a $3.1 million project to resurface the 3.5-mile stretch and construct new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps. Work continues through late October.
FISH FOR ALL – All anglers and aspiring fishing fans can enjoy the H-F Park District Spring Fishing Derby from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Dolphin Lake. “Need a pole? Borrow one from Irons Oaks. Need bait? Worms will be available.” Kids have a chance to win prizes, including a new bike. Children must be accompanied by an adult; 16 and older need both Dolphin Lake and State of Illinois fishing permits.
