Commissioner Miller’s visit to Homewood restaurant marks Small Business Week

FREE CHINESE CULTURE CLASSES - The Flossmoor Public Library offers a live online program, including 10 free Chinese culture classes for children ages 7 to 12. Kids will go on a virtual tour, experience the traditions and stories behind Chinese festivals, and pick up a few Chinese words. The lessons take place over Zoom with a skilled instructor from Cricket NeuLingo. Classes are on Wednesdays in March, April and May. To register, email [email protected] (subject: Learn).

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
