HELP THE FARMERS MARKET - Volunteers are needed for Homewood Farmers Market, to staff the market entrance and assist customers and vendors. All ages are welcome; parental permission required those under 16.

Each volunteer is asked to stay for at least two hours. The market is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays from May 8 to Oct. 9. Email [email protected] with your available dates and times.

Fall events

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
