REGIFT IT FOR GOOD - If you got a gift that's just not your style this season, drop it off at Flossmoor Station Brewery now through the end of February. The restaurant is collecting unused items for Leave it for Love, which donates them to low-income senior citizens. Ideas include toiletries . . .

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
