Subscribers make a difference in local news coverage (free content)

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District is expected to select a project manager early in the new year to oversee H-F Ice Arena improvements.

Parks Executive Director Debbie Kopas told the commissioners at the park board’s Dec. 21 meeting, that two firms are being considered for the construction manager’s job. The firm would be responsible for all aspects of replacing the refrigeration system.

Summer events

Monday, July 4

  • Homewood 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, then follows Ridge Road to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
  • Flossmoor 4th of July parade. Starts at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High and ends downtown, where there will be fun activities.
