The Flossmoor village Board will have just one new face after the April 6 elections.
With all precincts reporting, Gary Daggett joined incumbents Joni Bradley-Scott, Brian Driscoll and George W. Lofton III as winners at the ballot box.
“I would like to say thank you to all of those who supported my efforts to run for Flossmoor Village Trustee,” Daggett said. “I am incredibly humbled by the trust that my fellow Flossmoor neighbors have invested in me and look forward to working with the village board and the new mayor to help move Flossmoor forward.”
In a statement to the Chronicle, Bradley-Scott said: “I am very appreciative of the residents of Flossmoor for coming out to vote in this historic election. I am excited to continue focusing on the work that lies ahead.
“This election cycle was very well run and I acknowledge the integrity of all those that participated on every level of government. It is important that I continue the conversations with residents and neighboring communities to strengthen the resources and opportunities in the Southland.
“Flossmoor is uniquely positioned with a very strong reputation in our schools, housing stock, and overall quality of life. I want to congratulate my fellow re-elected trustees Brian Driscoll and George Lofton. I look forward to working with our Mayor-Elect Michelle Nelson and Trustee-Elect Gary Daggett on the Village Board. I believe there are some very exciting times ahead and I hope that residents will continue to engage and support us in our endeavors.”
Driscoll also commented to the Chronicle. “I would like to thank the voters in Flossmoor for their continued trust and support for my candidacy,” he said. “I am looking forward to working with the new Board and Mayor on the infrastructure and financial issues facing the Village.
Bradley-Scott, Daggett and Driscoll all were elected to four-year terms. Lofton was unopposed in his bid for a two-year term to complete the term of Gyata Kimmons, who resigned last November.
Daggett and Driscoll both won 1,923 votes (28.8%), and Bradley-Scott was third with 1,844 (27.6%).
Independent David Walano received 974 votes (14.6%) in Flossmoor’s nine precincts while his opponents each garnered roughly twice as many.
