Judge: Homewood residents can enter country club case

SPEICAL STORY SESSIONS - Visit Flossmoor Library on Saturday for the next event in the village’s holiday calendar. Families can enjoy a special holiday story time with professional storyteller Emma L. Anderson, an H-F High School graduate and Chicago-based actress.

Two story times will each feature three to four winter-themed book readings. Kids will also receive a holiday themed cookie to decorate at home.

Registration is required and limited for each session. 1 and 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Find registration link at Flossmoor village website . . .

Summer events

Saturday, July 2

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
