There is a hopeful feeling among local business owners as the second pandemic holiday shopping season gets in full swing, and its a relief after the difficulties of 2020, when the economy was still reeling from the first surges of COVID-19.
Lisa Komorowski, co-owner of Loulou Belle boutique in downtown Homewood, said the first shutdown of business back in March 2020 was a low point. She left a job with good pay and benefits to open the shop, and it looked at that moment like doom.
