Drop off your favorite stuffed animal at Irons Oaks by 2 p.m. Friday and then watch social media to see it hiking, cooking over the fire, and sleeping in a tent. Pick it up the next day with a souvenir photo album. $5 with H-F Park District

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.
