Staying well together: Primary health care efforts evolving during pandemic

The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Bach’s “Sinfonia Concertante for Winds” by Bach and “Symphony No. 8” by Beethoven at its 7:30 p.m. concert Saturday, Nov. 13.

The performance will feature four orchestra principals – Naomi Bensdorf Frisch on oboe, Trevor O’Riordan on clarinet, Erin Kozakis on bassoon and Lee Shirer on horn – for the Bach piece.

Following the concert, a “talkback” session with Maestro Stilian Kirov and the IPO soloists will give guests a chance to be in discussion with the musicians.

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
