Hidden Gem Half Marathon sets Sept. 11 as return date, but organizers playing it safe

The Hidden Gem Half Marathon is set to make its triumphant return to Flossmoor on Saturday, Sept. 11 — provided the COVID-19 pandemic and weather both cooperate.

Fall events

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
