Homewood votes down rezoning for trucking depot

Downtown Flossmoor's recent retail resurgence got another boost in mid-October with the addition of a book store.

Bookman's Outpost at 1044 Sterling Ave. offers used books in a wide range of styles and genres, according to owner Wes Auburn of Flossmoor.

He rattled off the categories that came immediately to mind: mysteries, art books, James Bond thrillers, ghost stories, collectibles, cars and more.

His inventory was developed mainly through his own habit of book hunting.

"I go out and scout. I've been doing that and selling online for a couple of years," he said.
