Homewood trustees to consider zoning changes that would allow Calumet Country Club redevelopment to proceed

The Illinois Association of School Boards has recognized District 233 board member Pam Jackson as a master board member. She is a member of the South Cook Division of IASB and recently was elected a director-at-large for the division.

To be selected a master board member, Jackson earned points for attending division and statewide IASB meetings, government meetings and leadership programs, in addition to holding leadership positions. IASB recognized her achievement at its fall South Cook Division meeting in October. The District 233 school board congratulated Jackson at its October meeting,

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
