Fourth session of P&Z hearing on Calumet Country Club rezoning planned for Wednesday morning

MAYOR'S HOURS - Flossmoor Mayor Michelle Nelson will be at Village Hall from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday to meet with residents, answer questions and address concerns.

NATURE WALK - Homewood Science Center hosts its annual Walk Walton event from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Izaak Walton Nature Preserve. This year enjoy a Nature Scavenger Hunt, Explorer Backpack for Kids, Animals in Fall exhibit, Fantastic Fall Trees exhibit, a Pumpkin Patch, and doughnuts and hot drinks. Tickets are $10.

  • Roots + Fire Water grand opening, 11 a.m. at 1941 Ridge Road in Homewood.

Monday, July 4

  • Flossmoor Volunteer Fire Department kids parade, starting at 10 a.m. at Parker Junior High, ending in downtown Flossmoor.
  • Homewood 4th of July parade, staring at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church parking lot, 17951 Dixie Highway, south to Ridge Road, then east to Izaak Walton Nature Preserve, where there will be a community picnic.
