Virtual ‘Being the Dream’ celebrating African American art

“Being the Dream,” a celebration of African American life, talent and culture, is being presented by the Drama Group as a virtual performance.

The show is done in two segments – a gallery and a performance. The Drama Group work is available through a YouTube link at www.dramagroup.org

The gallery section has many pieces of varied styles, and the Drama Group worked collaboratively with Prairie State College, the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, Salon Artists Gallery and other local organizations to present art and music created by . . .

Fall events

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Homewood Fall Fest and Chili Cook-off, noon to 9 p.m. Chili tasting is open to the public for a donation from 3 to 5 p.m. Three live music performances, plus horse-drawn wagon rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts and other activities.

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Dia de los Muertos in downtown Homewood. Details to follow.
